Back from the Cotswolds

Hello my friends, we are back home from a 3-days trip to the Cotswolds, the most beautiful and most famous part of the UK! This area really stole my heart!

Since a long time, the Cotswolds were on my ‘to visit’- list and thanks to one of our clients who lives in the area, Jan and me had the opportunity to explore a part of the region after we had a meeting at our client’s home.

The Cotswolds are often called ‘the heart’ of England.

Today I share with you a few pictures I took during the trip! No much words needed!

I will post more about the Cotswolds in a later post!

  6. I had to chuckle when I saw your post Greet, after spending a week in The Cotswolds years ago we were half-serious about packing up everything here in Canada and moving to one of the quaint towns. I was going to open a small shop..........we were entranced with the notion of living in a place where it seemed time had stopped still 100 years ago. You have reminded me, we need to go back. xx

  8. So pleased you had a lovely trip to the Cotswolds Greet! We too love this area, and were there a couple of weeks ago when we had the chance to visit Prince Charles's beautiful garden at Highgrove, Tetbury, which I blogged about. I also love Cirencester and so enjoyed seeing your lovely photos! Shall look forward to hearing more about your trip!

  10. your visit made me wish for another of mine to this beautiful area of England....we stayed there for some time last year in Lower Slaughter, right next to Stow-in-the-Wold...we have our eye on a property in the area! your interior style would be lovely in any one of those old stone houses...your client is on the right track, choosing you!
    Cheers!

  11. Hi Greet,

So fun to see your visit to Barnsley, the village, and especially Rosemary Verey's house, how a hotel, where I stayed with her many times during her gardening years. I hope you went inside the hotel and garden. I wonder how it has changed! She was very important to many of us younger horticulturists, very generous with her time and knowledge and sharing her friends. She sent me to Prince Charles garden, where she had worked with him on design, to photograph his vegetable garden for a book, on which I was working. A wonderful mentor! And I miss her!
