I remember the day you were born as if it was only yesterday!
The day I gave birth to a boy! You ! My son!!!
I was so proud to hold you in my arms.
You brought so much joy and energy into my life!
I have always wanted to take care of you, to protect you! And to hold and comfort you when you felt sad.
I took you along the journey of life, with memories of good and bad moments, as life is.
And I tried to explain you as good as I could why things happened.
Now I realize that you are grown up and that you need to go your own way. And I understand…I do!…But please don’t forget to share with me lots of beautiful or even the more uncomfortable moments in your life. I’ll be there to have fun with you, to listen to you, to support you, whenever you need me.
I am so proud of the wonderful and good hearted person you became now.
I love to see you laughing and enjoying time spending with your dearest godchild Alexa.
I am so pleased to hear you enjoy making fun with your school friends.
I do hope we will still share tons of beautiful moments together in future!

Wishing your son a very happy Sweet Sixteen. My daughter Annabel turned sixteen this last year, it is amazing how the time just flies by. I can't help thinking lately that soon she will be gone to University and I have to make the most of each and every day until then, not easy always with a teenager! Congratulations Greet to you to!

ReplyDeleteI was part of a large Italian family and there were several Anthonys-of all ages! I remember with such great affection the mothers who would snuggle their sons, every one of them, no matter what the age of their sons, calling them 'Little Anthony.'

ReplyDeleteDe tijd vliegt enorm..onze zoon word donderdag alweer 18. Al voelt het dat je hem al bijna los moet laten, omdat de teugels steeds losser worden gelaten, toch krijgt dat ook weer een keerpunt. Als ze van alles een beetje geproefd hebben, richten ze zich steeds meer op huis. Puber jongens worden volwassen mannen, Greet... geniet er van, want je kan reuze trots op hem zijn!

This is so sweet. What a handsome boy you have raised Greet! I understand why all the girls are flocking him but I know his #1 girl is his mom! I love the wishes and dreams you have for him, and this was a wonderful tribute to him. There is nothing like sharing lifes path with our kids, as hard as it might be to see them "grow up". I too have a 16 year old MAN and I would give anything to push a pause button! Happy birthday to your sweet Anthony!
