Please open that door, I would love to come in…

Whenever I see a door half opened or I can take a glimpse through a glazed door, my eyes are always focused on what’s behind.

“Secret” doors are the worst!  My curiosity is completely sparked! I can’t help!

Do you recognize this?

Test yourself by looking at those images!

  1. The first door I would open is the one with the puppy, then we could go on an adventure to see what lies behind the other beautiful thresholds!
    Lovely post. Thank you.

  4. Bonjour Greet !

  8. I see what you mean Greet and never realized you do want to see beyond! That first image, I think it’s your sister’s orangery, is fabulous. Thank you for pointing out what I haven’t been seeing!

  12. I love it when I see one - the hardest thing for me is to see a beautiful home and then have it behind a discreet entrance...such a tease! :) That chateau that you showed has some beautiful versions and your work is also beautiful - as usual!

  13. In London I had an old house with jib doors and I loved them! They led into the scullery, the laundry and the boiler room so it wasn't glamorous, but they gave the central downstairs hall a certain dignity and simplicity.

  14. Aaaah! dreaming about living in one of those houses, opening and closing doors all day long! The curious puppy face is priceless.
    Ciao.

  16. Beautiful images, each with it's own story to tell. Sometimes it's the door itself, like the book case doors. Sometimes it's the compelling view beyond, like Chateau Moissac. Or the invitation I find in both of your images.
All wonderful worthy of more consideration.

    Cheers,
    John

  18. Dearest Greet,
I love watching through the pane to see what's on the other side. Maybe that's why windows are so dear to me.....there are many recuperated doors and windows in my house. Some leftovers from a recent project are now becoming a large cabinet thanks to your most inspiring post on the subject recently.

I hope to open my doors to you some day!

Thank you Great, such an honor to find myself here.....and I love Lefèvre Interiors!

    Love,
    Ingela

  22. Just love the intrigue of secret doors...and the invitation of slightly opened doors...a technique we use in photo styling...who can resist the temptation of walk through either. I want to walk through all of the beautiful doors here.

  23. Doors are my biggest weakness, if I see a beautiful door, I have to take a photo or memorise it! I really love your choices, they all seem to act as photo frames which makes them all the more intriguing!

  24. Beautiful images, Greet, and such a provocative idea. My favorite is the first one, the orangerie. Have a wonderful day. Best...Victoria

  29. Decoration in each room is hard, but you did it perfectly, so neat and clean it is!! these colours are divine, I enjoyed looking at these, especially those that were more subtly bold.

  30. Greet this is WONDERFUL! I adore glazed doors too, not only are they intriguing they are a wonderful way of letting light into otherwise darker rooms. I have to say that I stopped opened mouthed at the oh so elegant panelled Lefevre room! It truly oozes luxury and warmth and the divine accent of the cranberry coloured roses and lamp are GENIUS!!!!!! I love your style Greet!
