I have always loved display cabinets. They add a cozy feeling to your dining room or kitchen and showcase the taste of the owner.
You can change your displays by season if you like.

Charming cabinet with the seat (trunk) in front of it!
A Belgian late 18th century oak cabinet. Beautiful to display all of your Astier de Villatte ceramics and glasses!
Talk to you soon!

Weeral prachtige foto's. De open kasten ben ik niet zo een favoriet van ( te veel stof afvegen)
ReplyDeleteMaar die vitrinekasten met glazen deuren vind ik geweldig. Bij mij thuis staat daar zilver en glas in.
Groetjes,
Liliane
Ooh, just what I needed today--a dose of Greet! :)
ReplyDeleteMerci pour l'inspiration.
Bisous,
Heather
Love the cabinet with the chicken wire it helps the display from being to serious. We're lucky enough to live in an old house that has the cabinet already built in and I love it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your week Greet!

Such charming display cabinets. I especially like the built in cabinets in the kitchen pic via Maison Charmante. Glass doors are a must-have for me. It cuts down on dusting and polishing.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, Greet!

Greet, I so agree, I too love display cabinets, such a wonderful spot to enjoy and share coveted treasures and collections, plus it makes a room feel so much warmer and gives it a real personality!
ReplyDeleteLa 11e photo est une façade de lit-wagon que l'on trouvait dans les pièces communes le long des murs (Auvergne et Bretagne).
ReplyDeleteMagnifique blog, bravo!
Hello Greet,
ReplyDeletewhat lovely cabinets...love to be able to see one's lovely china and stoneware beautifully displayed in china hutches and cabinets...
it's so pretty..beautiful post and pics..
best,
maureen
Warm en sfeervol!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about them except for the dust and having to clean everything out often in a very sunny room. Beautiful examples of them.
ReplyDeleteCharles Spada is one of our favorite showrooms here in Boston! They ALWAYS have wonderful pieces to choose from. The twist of the handrail as it comes to the floor landing is a delight to the eye in the Spada shot. I've got to file away the sink idea - that's terrific! As is the pop of color in yrou image.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
John
This post couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I just found a cabinet for my kitchen nook and am so excited to pick it up this weekend. I love seeing these inspiring examples! Thanks greet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning kitchen: a combination of the white modern and the dark traditional.
ReplyDeleteAnna
Beautiful cabinets! I love the ability to display beautiful china and other culinary antiques inside of a gorgeous antique piece like a buffet a deux corps. It makes the items inside feel that much more precious. The variety of styles you show here is great. Thanks for sharing!

( As-tu le temps d'aller voir Mango ? )
Bonne soirée !

Dear Greet, love the old display cabinets.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to find one soon, for my dining area.

Busy week over here.. I am signing up for Hot Yoga classes tomorrow. I need more peace and quiet...
What beautiful examples, all of them! I thought you would be interested to know, the 3rd picture is the home of Appley Hoare, a British dealer in French antiques. You can find a blog post about her here - http://pigtown-design.blogspot.com/2010/08/appley-hoare-house-in-france-for-rent.html. You would love her style. She has a shop in London - with the most beautiful things - see here - http://rusticchic.wordpress.com/2010/03/02/appley-hoare-londons-most-rustic-chic-shop/
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend. x Sharon
As always a beautiful post with scrummy photos! I just bought a beautiful pale oak display cabinet with storage below from Flammant I think they call it a bibliotheek kast (sorry about the spelling) and I have to say that it is a great way to create the small vignettes that I so love, plus storage beneath for a couple of our dinner services. Love this post thank you for sharing Greet and have a great weekend. Angela
ReplyDeleteLieve Greet,
ReplyDeleteYou have captured a look that will never die out; every texture and shade of gray and white, brown and natural just speaks PEACE!!!! SO BEAUTIFUL! GROETJES, Anita
All beautiful but I agree with Monika...yours is the best. I love arranging vignettes in cabinets. Have a great weekend. Mona
ReplyDeleteThose walnut (?) ones in the kitchen are just beautiful. Greet, please come post with us for November's post, the subject is so much fun & simple this time, and WE need YOU !! Sending love...
ReplyDeleteYou found some gorgeous display cabinet images today. I love them all except for the built in display shelves, (10th from the top) well, they are gorgeous, but somehow the super modern kitchen cabinets ruin the whole feel of the room. Some love the mixed look, but I don't think I like that one.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post!
Hugs, Cindy
I think that No 3 and 4 are the best !
ReplyDeleteI hope that you will have a wonderful weekend :)

ReplyDeleteOh I love all image!!This is excellent. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteif you have a contemporary styled living room you might want to look at the variety of glass display cabinets that are available. You can find several types that have a metal base unit with glass doors for displaying your items. The metal base can be in chrome or black to match the modern look of your furnishings. You can also use display cabinets in the kitchen to show off your collectible dishes. You can find hutch styles wood cabinets that have glass doors for keeping your collectible dishes safe from accumulating dust.
