I do believe that Belgian designers are very good at designing kitchens. Every time I am browsing a new issue of a Belgian magazine or a new published book about Belgian interior design I discover the most beautiful and inspiring images of Belgian kitchens.
What do you think about the kitchen in the first 2 images. Isn’t that a warm and inviting space?
I love the terracotta tiled floor and the weathered oak cabinets. And the round table with the LXV dining chairs is so beautiful and well chosen.

Notice the combination of the wall cabinetry. A combination of painted and oak cabinet doors.
And having a fireplace as this one in your kitchen!

My own kitchen here. Oak cabinetry and carrara marble for the floor and the kitchen counter top.

In the next kitchen I love the grey metal cooker that matches perfect with the grey vained floor tiles.

A kitchen designed by me in the next image. The marble used here as counter top is called ‘rouge belge’ marble.

I love this painted kitchen island and its wooden top! And what a beautiful chandelier hanging above the island!
In the next image you will see one of my all times favorite, new made, Belgian kitchens .As if it has been there for years! Love all the reclaimed materials used here. Very authentic kitchen! Every little detail and accessorie is carefully chosen. The kitchen is designed by the Belgian art historian Christian Van der Graesen.

Another gorgeous and very authentic kitchen.
Weathered oak used for the next kitchen. The design of the kitchen island is gorgeous!

Very light and airy kitchen.
Love the beamed ceiling and kitchen hood here.

Love the linen shades and slipcovered chairs. Beautiful color palette.
And the last 2 images are of kitchens designed by our Belgian interior designer Natalie Haegeman. Natalie is known for her use of exquisite fabrics for window treatment, upholstery and lampshades!
You really are able to recognize Natalie’s gorgeous and oh so charming kitchens.
Love, love, love the blue/white striped fabric here!
All these Belgian kitchens are not only gorgeous to cook in but you can even live in all of them. Don’t you agree?
I do hope you loved my Belgian kitchen post of today! Do you have any favorite?

ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, Belgians are the best! I love the kitchen with the white tiles to the ceiling. There is a little surpris on my blog for you :-)I know it "again" but I can not help.

All so beautiful and highly inspirational. I love the beautiful woods combined with the rustic stone floors and limestone hoods, love your kitchen too Greet! So warm and cozy while still being elegant. I notice in a lot of there there is not the typical amount of upper cabinets like it is done here, and I too love the idea of a fireplace in a kitchen, so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThe last picture with it's warm and old world feeling is a kitchen I could live in!! Beautiful post. xo
ReplyDeleteHey Greet,

They are all wonderful and love the natural elements chosen in each. I do, however, have two favourites; the first kitchen (Sels Exclusieve Villabouw) and the one by Liedssen. They are both restful, light and airy... just perfect.

OMG I love this post and I'm so jealous of all these wonderful kitchens! You're right there is nothing like a Belgian kitchen and I think it's the mix of authentic wood and Belgian bluestone floor. I think my favorite is the one by Architectenbureau Benoit Viaene, it's the huge farmhouse style island...LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteGreet, I love them all. Absolutely fabulous, but if I had to pick just one it would be the one by Architectenbureau Benoit Viaene.
ReplyDeleteHey Greet,
ReplyDeleteThese Belgium kitchens are so nice, they bring a sort of 'warmth' and inviting way about them. so many to love!
xo
Wow Greet, your kitchen is wonderful. In fact, all these kitchens are just perfect. I love the muted colours and stone floors. I am so taken with the fireplace in the first kitchen - I've always wanted a fireplace in my kitchen! x Sharon
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen is one of my favourite spaces in a house. If I like the kitchen and bathroom I'm sold. And this is such beautiful inspiration. I love a spacious, light kitchen, in a combination of white walls, wood and stone, a little rustic, a little modern for to totally charming look.
ReplyDeleteAda
Your kitchen is beautiful...so warm and cozy! I like how there are no upper cabinets used in these photos. Is that an element of Belgian kitchen design?

I agree, and I think they really reflect such a timeless design asthetic. Such lovely, natural materials and clean lines add up to beautiful kitchens that can last a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite is your own Greet. Honest! Gorgeous! XO
ReplyDeleteI am working on a kitchen with a client + This is so helpful. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteNo, no, impossible to choose only one! I love them all, with the stone floors, lots of wood and noble materials. I particularly would love to have a small desk and chair in my kitchen! Thanks for the lovely selection, Greet!
ReplyDeleteWonderful kitchen parade Greet!
ReplyDeleteI love the Belgian designs - there is a timeless quietness to them, and then all that wonderful strong rusticity.
That terra cotta floor in no 1 & 2 is fantastic. I also love a kitchen that has an oper fire place. In my dreams all my kitchens would have one..
I am also very taken by no 7. The lightness and wonderful ceiling height really appeal to me.
Hope you are well.
Hugs from Sweden
x Charlotta
Love the beautiful stone floors!
ReplyDeletei agree--what i love most about these kitchens is the liveability and the warmth that we all need to start and end our days.
ReplyDeleteyou do such fabulous design work, greet.
thanks so much for taking the time to share such lovely.

Greet, I wish we both a had a glass of wine and a few hours to savor every detail in these fabulous kitchens. Belgian kitchen design is indeed the best...yours included for sure. I love all the subtle details..the lived in qualities and the unique finishes and lighting. Actually, I just love it all. Makes me want to start all over at my house for sure. The more I'm exposed to this design it just seems to get into your soul. Thanks for sharing all of these amazing images.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is my favorite, the one that you designed is second, the first one and the last ones are next in line. They are all FABULOUS though. WOW!!! So many gorgeous images, dear Greet. They were all wonderful to see!
ReplyDeleteThe last one appears to be in a cottage rather than in a manor style home. That endears me to it, I must say.
Hugs, Cindy
I love the way you have subtly distinguished your kitchen from your dining area!
ReplyDeletehi greet....
ReplyDeleteone is more beautiful than the next... truly the best.
congratulations on your home being published... i look forward to seeing it one day (if i am invited!) and know i will be speechless....
hoping this finds you well... xx
Greet,
ReplyDeleteI believe all of these Belgium Kitchens exhibit warmth and a lived in feeling.
Having visited Belgium, I can tell you that the people of Belgium are very warm and engaging and the homes of the few I spent time in were very inviting and comfortable.

The kitchen by Benoit Viaene has some of the same elements (limestone range surround - purchased but not installed just yet) that my own kitchen will have. The cabinetry will be similar to yours and light grey in color. Do you think a honed marble countertop would work with the limestone? The floors will be limestone as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the simple, straightforward style with expanses of plain tile or plaster. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKitchens are my favorite place in a home. I love the warmth they evoke and, here in the U.S., it's where everyone gathers. These are beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing! My best, -s
ReplyDeleteI love how your kitchen reminds me of being an older house in Italy, but updated. Doing it yourself really is not as bad it seems. I have just moved into an older house and have been trying to save money by fixing and replacing sections myself. I have received help from friends and I came across some videos that have helped me too. With videos that show you how to install wall tile in kitchen , bathroom tiles, and installing carpets, it will allow you to learn some great home improvement skills that will save you the time and money from having to hiring someone to do it for you.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate this post. I've been looking all over for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You have made my day! Thanks again
