I lot of you my readers do know that I just love castles, in particular those built in the 18th century. This Château built “à l’italienne” under the reign of LXV, is a jewel!
Château de Bouges is located in the heart of the Berry region, the Loire Valley. It is classified as a monument historique and the gardens are listed by the Ministry of Culture as among the Notable Gardens of France. The château and gardens are open to the public.
I haven’t visited this castle yet, but I have definitely added it to my ‘must visit in France’ list.
Perfect symmetrie in architecture as in the garden landscaping.
One of the remarkable lime trees.
‘L’écurie’ where beautiful oak wood is used and where you can notice the names of the last stayed horses on the doors of the boxes.
The castle’s elegant architecture is matched by the outstanding furniture that was carefully selected by the last owners of the château.
Just beautiful! No much words needed!

I wish you a nice Sunday and please don’t forget the little girl Miabelle in your prayers.

Beautiful Chateau, inside and out...so Andrea Palladio, perfect symmetry.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if my comment went through.
ReplyDeleteThey don't make architecture this perfect and impressive anymore. Love the garden and the staircase is magnificent.
I love the symmetry of the chateau and those windows are stunning! The inside is just as beautiful without being stuffy. What a dream place to have lived….I wish!
ReplyDeleteGreet...just beautiful. We are going to add this to our list to visit. Thanks for sharing the story of Miabelle. So touching. As a parent I can't imagine what they must be going through. Definitely keeping them in our prayers and praying for a match.

ReplyDeleteI just read your post on little Miabelle... have sent a prayer for her and will continue to add her in my prayers ...her and her twin are adorable!!! xo HHL
A total dream. The gardens alone I could be happy in with a sleeping bag! Haha! So magnificent. I just love the symmetry of french homes and the pale soft colors....it all comes together so magnificently. I hope you get to go there soon and share your visit with us, Greet!
ReplyDeleteI too love castles and this one I know well. I used to live in Angers, France and loved touring the castles and heritage sites.
ReplyDeleteI think there are more than 400 châteaux in the region and it really does feel like they are 'wall to wall'. So many to see and some of my favourite ones were Chenonceau, Amboise, Blois, Azey Le Rideau, and Château de la Chatonnière with its fantastic gardens.
Have you ever been to this region? You'd love it! In fact you may just stay permanently!! :)

SO beautiful. But what I like best is how, although it is very large and grand, it feels comfortable, warm and welcoming, like the dining room!
