I hope you all enjoyed this Easter weekend! We have had a long weekend and the Belgian weather was gorgeous! So we spred our time between working in the garden and having barbecue with our family.
Back to our job this morning, preparing a new project, I was browsing through my dining room file to find some inspirational dining spaces for this new project. I picked out some gorgeous dining rooms I wanted to share with you today.
Don’t you love the intimacy of this dining space? Surrounded by books while dining! Love that.

In this dining room I just love the color palette of the room and the gorgeous chairs!

I have always loved to hang paintings in a dining room, in particular portraits.

Love the freshness of this room : beautiful painted paneling and wonderful chosen chair upholstery fabric.

Here I love the grey ypholstered chairs in combination with the stained dining table. The grey color is repeated in the wall painting and in the color of the wainscotting.
Notice that beautiful oriental rug.

The high ceilings give this dining room a royal appearance.

Love this! Such a warm and cozy space. Notice the carpet !

Maybe it is because of the speciality of my company’s work , but I just have a weakness for paneled rooms. In a dining room I especially love to see a very soft and clean painted color for the paneling.
What I also love in this room is again the portret painting, the floor tiles and the view towards the other rooms “en enfilade” . There is a straight line of doors from one room to another.

A country styled dining room. Beautiful!

A luxurious appearance.

A Swedish styled dining room. I love the chairs, the framed documents on the wall and the subdued color palette here.

Gorgeous paneling!

Love the table, the chairs and the table chandelier.

Shabby chic style in combination with the indurstrial chairs. It works!

Swedish styled room again. To me the Swedish chairs are of the most beautiful chairs one can find.

I enjoy this French styled dining room a lot! So charming! The chairs, the linen table cloth, the carpet. All so well chosen in combination with the wooden beams and the stone walls, isn’t it?

Which one of these dining rooms is your favorite? Tell me!

Good morning, my dear Greet!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear you guys had a great Easter. That's wonderful!
Wow.. so many beautiful dining rooms! I love the 1st one. Dining surrounded by books seems to be very charming and the last one is just amazing! I love rustic and this one is so pretty.
Have a wonderful day!

Hello Greet First and last please
ReplyDeleteLove NHs ceiling too and all the books
but i cant resist the french sacking and beams
Have a good week fay xx
Hello Greet. I love the ones with murals. I think it may be because my grandfather (who was from Italy) used to paint absolutely gorgeous murals. That was his profession. They had so much dimension and elegance. I also love the rustic look in some of the images above. All great choices (as always). Take care.
ReplyDeletehello greet thnkyou for visiting i darent put all my bags on ! there rather a lot !! re the pesky blog I dont think anyone is getting the subscription from me for past 2 months Its beeen a real problem with that ,duplicates and distortion Ive tried evrything but people say it s Blogger ?/ mmm have a good week and look forward to your next project .the only thing I can say is that at least I number them so that one way of tracking the pesky things !! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Greet... they're all very pretty, but I like the 1st and 4th ones. I like the chandy, bookshelves and gorgeous ceiling in the 1st room. I like the more casual fabric and the painted wood walls in the 4th. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDe laatste foto is mijn favoriet...zo altijd ga ik toch ook voor een beetje stoer! Bij de andere mooie foto's krijg ik meteen het gevoel dat ik me wel eerst heel sjiek moet kleden hihi!
ReplyDeleteLieve groet, Ingrid
Good to be back here!
ReplyDeleteGreet, with her always stunning images!
I have always loved the idea of a combined library and dining room (I have quite a few old books in my own dining room and it makes the room very cozy).
But I have to say that last image is fantastic. Imagine dining in that room. What an atmosphere. The guests would never leave!
Warm hugs to you,
Mon
I love the dining room by Lisa Luby Ryan, elegant and understated is my favorite. I don’t like too much pattern in a dining room since you usually have guests in that room and who wants a room taking away from guests and the food? Beautiful choices though….
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Greet!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you had a wonderful Easter. (and great weather, too) Ours was very nice as well :)
As for these beautiful rooms, I absolutely adore the very first, for all of the books and stunning molding, and also, the last. The stone and relaxed nature of the space make me feel as though I could sit there for hours and hours... lovely.
I hope you are having a great day.
xoxo,
Sarah
p.s I just read Monika's comment above and laughed... seems we love the very same spaces -- that is too funny!
oh such beautiful dining rooms, Greet...
ReplyDeleteI can see enjoying a long dinner with friends and family gathered around...
and I too, love paneled walls and all the gorgeous molding and trim that accompanies it...
good to hear you had great weather for your family's holiday weekend...
maureen
Greet....so many gorgeous rooms, many which are my favorites. That Cathy Kincaid is one of my all time faves..its so old world looking...so many of these are just so beautiful and very timeless. That last one in all its rustic understated charm is quite special too. So happy to hear that Easter was wonderful for you and that you were blessed with great weather!
ReplyDeleteVictoria Hagans room are always quiet and elegant.
ReplyDeleteHello Greet,
ReplyDeleteYes, so beautiful spaces.I love the #2 with those stuning chairs and the magical air from the mirrored doors, but my favorite it's the last one I think that the french style furniture is the perfect contrast for the rustic ambiance.
I wish you a lovely afternoon maybe working in your garden,
Hugs
Cecilia
They are all so lovely. But #2 with the interesting chairs and gorgeous table leg. I love the blue and white china with gold!
ReplyDeleteHi Greet,
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous spaces, but the first and the last ones are my personal favorites. I love the book lined dining room, the books give the room a warm coziness, don`t they. Also the huge beams in the last, with the linen table cloth and the elegant chairs. The Swedish rooms are simple and elegant, too. Thank you for the chance to see these.
Have a lovely day, my sweet friend,
Big hugs, Cindy
Love that cloud filled ceiling. Considering that idea in our master bath. Thanks for sharing.

OK I am hooked on the 1st. image. I love the feeling of being surrounded by books+clouds on the ceiling. Hurrah to NH+you for posting such grand photos. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteHello Greet! I loved visiting your Belgium recently..!did some antique hunting at the markets.
ReplyDeletewell, I think right now, I love the last dining room. we are in a "cozy" mood since we are going into winter expecting our first snow of the winter tonight,..the log fire has just been lit..so that does influence my decision...what ever you do will be gorgeous. much love Colette x ~ Afrique du Sud
I think dining rooms ought to bring family and friends together to have a wonderful fun time with each other and good food. The dining rooms that I think evoke that feeling are number nine and the last one. They are all beautiful spaces, but dining rooms aren' museums! The rooms should make everyone feel special and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteHard to pick only one, I also love Gustavian chairs, and Swedish and French interiors are gorgeous, so I think I will pick numbers 13 and 14 and the last one too, with its stones and rustic beams. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Greet!
ReplyDeleteWell since I am an avid reader and carry a book with me everywhere…the first dining room with all the books wowed me!
I think it would be lovely to pick a book and then sit down to dine..of course I do occasionally have to talk to people I guess.
Hugs,
Amy
Bonjour Greet,
ReplyDeleteWith so many wonderful dining rooms to choose from it is hard to decide on just one. I have 3. Number 2, probably comes closest to my ideal room. Number 13 has a lovely chandelier, table and chairs and in number 16, I love the rustic setting and the table covering.
Great selections of dining rooms, Greet.
Glad your Easter weekend was a happy one.
Kris
None of these are my style per say but I love the last one!
ReplyDeleteHi Greet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! I love all of your inspiration photos but if I had to choose I would have to pick the dining room designed by Robert Couturier! I too love the paneled walls, portrait painting and view to the rooms beyond...it's one of my all time favorite rooms...and how fabulous is the carpet on the table! best, Danielle
So many gorgeous dining rooms...love the one surrounded by books!! Glad you had such a nice Easter ~
ReplyDeleteLove the dining rooms! I'm so happy you had a wonderful Easter! Your home would be the perfect setting for Easter!
ReplyDeletelol,
Desiree
So difficult to choose but the last is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear about your wonderful Easter! Just love the grey upholstered chairs and the wall painting in the VT interiors dining room.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week!
Hello Greet!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say the first, with all those wonderful books, is my favorite. I also love the painted ceiling with that gorgeous chandelier dripping from it...
Also wanted to let you know that I have been a long time reader of your blog...it is by far one of the best and most beautiful blogs...
My pick would be the ceilings painted with clouds.
ReplyDeleteHallo Greet,
groetjes
Hi Greet,
ReplyDeleteI've scrolled through these photos 5 times and I still can't pick just one! They each have wonderful aspects to them, but I guess it comes down to the Nicky Haslam dining room cum library (I also love that concept, and the ceiling is brilliant) and the Vincent Bruggen room -love the color and the freshness of it.
Thank you for this. Dining rooms are on my mind right now as I'm doing a dining room vignette for a charitable event in June in NYC; also I have a prospective client in the Hamptons who wants a paneled dining room. Perfect!
Greet,
ReplyDeleteYou have chosen some very beautiful rooms. I love the first image because I love dining /library rooms.
I hope that all is well with you.
Teresa

I like the all designs of lamps here. I like the golden collection most here.

Oh my, it took me awhile to get here--even though I know that you are well respected and liked in the design blog world--now, of course I know why and wish that I had come by sooner. I love that you offer up such a wide palette of aesthetics. Lots to learn for me!
