Choosing the most suitable lighting fixture for your kitchen island isn’t always that evident. There is a lot of choice of different kinds of fixtures, as lanterns, glass and shades pendants, industrial pendants, chandeliers. Passed weekend I was searching for an island fixture to hang above the kitchen island of one of my clients and I realized that there are quite a lot of possibilities to add the most beautiful lighting into your kitchen. Depending of course of the design style of your kitchen. Either you have a rustic or industrial styled kitchen, a contemporary or a more traditional styled kitchen, you will always find that fixture that fits your style.
I posted some images of kitchen island fixtures to inspire you to make your best choice.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteWow Greet....what a wonderful assortment of amazing kitchens and lighting! Love the lighting and overall feeling of the first kitchen and the one you said is your favorite is quite spectacular! And that fourth kitchen with the pretty lanterns and blue and white accents is quite gorgeous as well.... We have just started looking for kitchen lighting and I definitely want to put some thought into this and not go and get the same cookie cutter fixtures you see everywhere!! So this was great great inspriation and gave me some ideas to store...thanks. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, on my favorite room - the kitchen! We made a decision not to have any island lighting, because of the design of my new kitchen. If we had a chandelier or lantern, it would have blocked the view of the range, and we also decided that the feel of the kitchen would be retreating - quiet - and an island light did not fit this mood We do, however, have a fabulous transitional chandelier that will be over the breakfast table!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Greet.
love the pendant fixtures as well as the chandeliers....I think light fixtures in the kitchen can really break up the monotony of roes of ubiquitous white cabinets....beautiful images...

à bientôt,
Céline.
Wow - what a great collection you've presented here. I love all of them - it would be impossible to choose, although I tend to like the more tailored varieties like the lanterns. And what an assortment of beautiful kitchens!!
ReplyDeleteRight behind Stacey as usual. A terrific series of images. I dragged and dropped three into my files. The square verdigris lanterns with the same color accented with plates added a lovely balanced design. Who could resist the fabulous kitchen with the ancestors overseeing the food preparation. I always look forward to your posts.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Liz
Oh Greet, what many lovely options!
ReplyDeleteI gravitate towards the more modern lights - or lights with simple lines. The second lantern is stunning and I really, really like the 3 white drop lights (your source unknown). Simple and beautiful design.
I am crazy busy right now... But I always find time for you!

ReplyDeleteYou really should not be using photography without permission from the photographer, or at the least giving credit to him or her. Certainly, crediting other blog sites is WRONG!. They obviously have lifted the photograph from a website, magazine or book. In most cases, the photographer maintains rights to their work even after magazines or books have used it.
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful kitchens. Lighting really makes a distinctive statement about style and the personality of the homeowner.
ReplyDeleteDear Philip,
ReplyDeleteI know you are right about the photo credits. I really do the best I can to give the right credits but it is not always that evident.
If you know the sources of any photo on my blog that has not the right credit, please let me know. I would be pleased to adapt it on my blog.
Sincerely,
Greet

I was also listening to your interview at "skirted round table" and it was so wonderful! I was laughing, learning and just feeling so inspired by you and the story of your company. I feel so proud of you. I truly do, Greet.
This is so interesting, last night I was thinking about this... I want to change the light fixture in my kitchen and I wasn't sure to which one. After seeing this post I have a better idea what will look good here. :-) Thank you! :-)
Have a great day, my dear friend!
