Wat een lange inspiratiepost, heerlijk ! Ik ga weer even boven aan beginnen.
ReplyDeleteFantastic images Greet! Thank you for the inspiration!
Lieve groet, Ingrid
Do you know what I love about your country, it's the fact that you don't feel the need to stain and seal the heck out of really beautiful wood floors. That there's elegance in the simple beauty of each room without being over done. There's no clutter and the rooms have life. It's no wonder so many of us are in love with your country!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Greet, I love nearly every single one!! I mostly admire your ability to collect an file all these images, I'd never be that organised. Thank you for this most generous post.

ReplyDeleteOp Vosgesparis... een valentines give away ...
All so beautiful - I'd be happy to call any of them mine. Do you think perhaps I was Belgian in a former life?
ReplyDeleteHello Greet,
ReplyDeleteI visit your blog frequently for inspiration
as we renovate our old house in Canada, even though we have a very different architectural style. I have a question for you about the beautiful wood finishes that seem so characteristic of Belgian houses. How do you achieve this look? So often the wood finish looks soft and natural, as do the floors and door trim of the first two photos of this post. Yet in our experience, untreated or merely sealed wood, even white oak, tends to turn yellow or orange-y over time. I'd love to know some of the secrets of Belgian wood finishing. Do you stain the wood with a pale stain beforehand, bleach it, or chemically treat it in some way? And what do you use to seal it--wax, polish? I'd love any information you could share.
Your blog is a great resource.
Ohh, honey, this post was like being invited out to a party. Such lovely rooms. The Belgian style is so warm and peaceful, uncluttered and inviting. I'm sure you put a lot of work in making this post and I really appreciate it. Thanks, Greet!
ReplyDeleteHello dearest Greet,
ReplyDeleteYou can post more eye candy such as these any day!
I love the round top doors, the heavy linen draperies, the billowy wt toppers, (can't think of their name), the iron trimmed French doors and windows, the simple, yet elegant decor. I love all of it. These were all very beautiful, my friend. Thank you!
Hugs, Cindy
Greet, my friend
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant relief! Your pictures speak volumes!
The staircases and the kitchens were insanely inspirational!
Your friend,

What eye candy, indeed. I can't get enough of those pictures. Grand Post xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteI especially relate to the subtle wall colors and the way they reflect the light -- the warm white kitchen with stone floor, the pale gray made-to-measure library, the bath with angled wall, the bedroom in the last photo, etc., etc. Thanks for all the beautiful inspiration. Please post more!

Beautiful blog. You should consider posting your pics on www.houzz.com, which is a really great website for getting your work out there.
ReplyDeletePlease DO post more eye candy like this! I get so much pleasure from your beautiful photos, not to mention wonderful ideas. I particularly like all the built-in storage cabinets.
ReplyDeleteGreet: The appeal of the Belgium style for me is the combining of the antiquities with the very raw, but oh so contemporary elements. It is so refreshing to see traditional furniture, architecture and design presented in untraditional, unexpected ways. More, please, dear Greet! We want more!
ReplyDeleteHi Greet, you always put so much love and effort into your beautiful posts. The best part for me is the beautiful wood colours - very authentic, natural and alive. The interiors look elegant and inviting but not contrived or staged. Keep up the eye candy!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! (Lekker naweek!) Noreen
Heerlijk plaatjes Greet,

ReplyDeleteI could move into any one of these homes. They are so beautiful and soothing. What a treat to tour this beautiful style with you.
Linda @ A Toile Tale
Absolutely love these photos as this is the style I'm trying to achieve in our home-warmth, gracefulness, elegance without being "stuffy" and yet inviting to everyone. I grew up in such a home Nd always thought it was German (both parents came from Germany) but now I see that it was perhaps more Belgian.
ReplyDeleteThank you again for ALL your posts.
Kindly, Inge
Greet,
ReplyDeleteEach of these images is inspiring! Please post more just like this post. No words needed. I think we each draw inspiration from different ideas in these gorgeous images.
