I am so sorry that I have no before pictures but I hope you all will enjoy the after ones.
On the left you can see the entrance door integrated in the woodpaneling.
On both sides of the bed you can notice a night table.
A wall to wall wardrobe. Because of the rather small dimensions of the room, I designed a mirrored doubled door that creates the illusion that this room looks bigger. That door is not a doorway to another room but behind it, is created a space for hanging clothes.

The bedclothes are made-to-measure and we selected a matching fabric for the upholstery of the bedtrunk.
This wall to wall wool carpet, which is very soft, we have chosen after a sample of a carpet that my client had discovered once in a hotelroom. I have thought to put some cushions on that windowseat.

Wow Greet...this is really amazing! I can't wait to see the space complete with draperies...it's really rich in detail!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Michelle
It is incredibly cozy!
ReplyDeleteThe combination of the wool carpet and the walnut paneling are very rich... reminescent of an elegant hotel or a private car on a passenger train. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI can appreciate the detail and finish but not keen on the overall feel. The last comment hits the nail on the head for me. It looks like an elegant hotel but it feels slightly oppressive. I know!, everyone has different tastes, and luckily, that makes the world a visually interesting place.

The details that I love are: the mirrored closet doors, the mirrored inset panels on either side of the bed, and the window seat. They really dress up the room! Great ideas, especially when the room needs a closet and storage.

Very nice Greet, but i have to admit to finish it of i would have put parquet down, i am sure you would also do that, but not everybody wants that, i understand. Carpet is nice when you lik eit :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

Oh that looks so luxurious!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Greet,
ReplyDeleteLove the rich beautiful walnut and I really like the way you incorporated mirror into the design--especially like the shaped mirror on the closet doors. Your are right, upholstery on the window seat would be lovely and what is planned for the bed wall? Maybe some wall sconces for a little sparkle... and a painiting or tapestry in light tones? Looking forward to seeing it completed with the draperies. We don't often get to see such fine cabinet work here and I really enjoy the posts of your family's outstanding work.

Beautiful Greet, it does need some contemporary works of art for the completion. Especially above the bed.
ReplyDeleteHello Greet ..... that nice work ¡ .... always I have thought that me wiil like ... in a future .... to do the office of my husband at home ... quite of wood .... I find the very hot wood .... and always elegant .... have a good day ..¡¡¡¡ Berta
ReplyDeleteVery pretty bedroom :-) Walnut is my favourite wood -- it's so warm and has lots of character.
ReplyDeleteI love the design of the closet doors -- the oval detailing at the tops of the doors is fantastic. And so nice that the mirrors in the doors reflect the bed and the window :-)

Hi Greet - this is very pretty! Like a little jewel box room. Looking forward to seeing the curtains!
ReplyDeleteHello Greet, Beautiful workmanship. We don't see such work very often here in So. California because it is so very expensive. Also paneling is better suited to colder climates because it makes rooms so warm and cozy. The workmanship and detail is superb!
